Holo the Wise Wolf

This costume was one of my earliest projects. Based on the anime Spice and Wolf, this costume was completed in mid-2013 and worn in my first ever solo cosplay competition. I was awarded a judge’s award, which was extremely encouraging to me as an early cosplayer.

The most noteworthy parts of this costume are the ears and tail. Because I was using my real hair for this outfit, I wanted to use a natural fiber for the ears that would match. This led me to using my cat’s fur to cover the ears. The tail is made from custom-blended kanekalon fiber, which I latch-hooked to a mesh. The tail incorporates a wooden snake toy as its spine, making an articulated swish.
